Vendor FAQ
Do you accept Vendors selling CBD, THC, or marijuana products?
Unfortunately due to licensing laws and limits we are unable to accept products containing items.
How do I apply to participate in the festival and are there fees?
Apply online here to be a Vendor. Applications are due each year in April. Vendors must be a Business level member of Allied Arts ($85/year) and booth fees are $210/booth. Accepted Vendors must pay their booth fee by July 11th.
How does the jury process work?
In your application, you’ll be asked to provide pictures of and prices for your work. During the month of May a jury of community members and Allied Arts staff members will decide whether your wares fit the spirit of the Holiday Festival. You will be informed June if you have been chosen to be a vendor.
What paperwork do I have to complete beforehand and how do I pay my booth fee?
There are multiple items that we’ll need from you before the festival, including your booth fee and W-9. Access all that information here.
How is my booth location determined?
We make an effort to place booths away from other booths with similar items, giving variety to neighboring products. High value items, like jewelry, are placed closer to the register for security.
How do security shifts work?
Each Vendor is required to complete three (3) 3-hour shifts for a total of 9 hours per booth. Shifts are to be worked during the festival, but a few openings will be available to help with set-up or takedown. To ensure accuracy of transactions, Vendors will not be able to complete their shifts as cashiers. Vendors may make arrangements for a representative to complete their security shift.
Security shift responsibilities include greeting/assisting customers, keeping an eye out for theft, and restocking booths when applicable.
Do I need to staff my booth?
No, Allied Arts staff will handle all transactions and monitor booths. Similar to a standard store, the holiday festival has a main checkout area where all transactions are handled. Vendors are only expected to be at the festival to restock their booths (generally once a week) and complete their required security shifts. If your booth is running low on merchandise, Allied Arts staff will notify you via email or phone.
Can I do a double booth? (3′ x 12′)
Extra booth space will be available after the location is announced. Double booths are not guaranteed and will cost an additional $210. Vendors with two booths will also be required to complete an additional 9 hours of security shifts, (6) 3-hour shifts total.
Can I decorate my booth?
Yes, we recommend all Vendors decorate their booths as best they can to promote their brand. Please click here to see examples of booths from previous years.
Is there electricity available for my booth?
Yes, power is available — as long as you supply your own 3-prong extension cord and power strip with fuse. Each booth is limited to four light fixtures using low-wattage bulbs.
Can I participate in other festivals/events while being a Vendor?
Yes, Vendors are welcome to participate in other events during the Holiday Festival. Keep in mind that Vendors must keep their booths stocked and complete their security shifts, so plan accordingly.
Can I be a Vendor and perform?
Yes! Performing at the Holiday Festival is independent of any other duties Vendors are responsible for.
As a Vendor, can I do a demonstration of my work?
Allied Arts welcomes Vendor demonstrations, depending on the location of the festival. If feasible, Vendors will be notified and a sign-up form sent.
Vendors are responsible for providing all materials necessary for their demonstration, and demonstrations are independent of any other Vendor duties.
What are the Commission Rates?
A flat 30% commission will be taken from sales at the Holiday Festival, as long as you work your REQUIRED THREE SHIFTS.
Vendors who fail to complete their required Security shifts will have $50 per hour of security shift deducted from their payout.
Can I advertise my participation in the Holiday Festival?
Yes, the more advertising the better! Vendors are welcome to start posting/advertising once they’ve signed their contract. Allied Arts will also have posters, postcards, and signs available for you to share.
When do I set up?
Set up will be Wednesday and Thursday, Nov 18 & 19.
When is takedown?
The Holiday Festival ends on December 24th at 3pm. Vendors are welcome to take down their booths from 3pm-4pm on the 24th. Additional takedown dates are the 26th and 27th.
Where can I park?
Parking is dependent on the location of the Festival and local parking laws.
When should I expect payment?
Payment will be mailed out in mid-January.
Is there anything I cannot sell or promote?
All products must be handmade. We also expect vendors to be respectful of our Cultural Appropriation Policy. Also you may not advertise, promote, or sell products that contain CBD, THC, or marijuana.
