March 8th, 2025 Studio Business Tips – Art As Business

Be sure to stop by Louise Magno’s class in Studio Business Tips on Saturday, March 8 at 1:00pm. The class will take place at Allied Art’s gallery at 1213 Cornwall Ave in Bellingham. This Art as Business: Studio Business Tips class is open to ALL!

Class Description:

Hi! My name is Louise Magno and my studio is named Natural Moments Studio, LLC. I
am a photographer, graphic artist and painter. I am approached at shows by future artists who want to
know more about what it means to have a studio and put your work out there and what it will take. I
am also approached by well-meaning friends and family of artists who want their loved ones to take
the next step and show/sell their work and don’t understand the reluctance by an artist to do so.
Today I am sharing what I share with aspiring artists!
I have done shows both in WA and out of state. I have been accepted into galleries and I am a
published artist. I do compete with my work as well. I have had my studio for 20 years and my
class/session is on business tips for those who have studio’s, those who want to create their own
studio and for those who just want to further market their work without creating a studio.
We will cover basics like business license, business cards, social media marketing, online presence, art
groups, displaying your work, jurying, and so much more! The handouts will include tips, examples,
links and URL’s. So, let’s get together and Network with each other!

Veterans Art Program: Songwriting with Havilah Rand

June 1st and 2nd, 9am-12pm

During this workshop we will use journaling, collaging, and storytelling to curate narratives that express the life experience of military veterans and their families. Havilah will support participants in transforming these narratives into lyrics and ultimately songs which will be recorded and given to participants at the end of the workshop. LifeSongs serve as historical artifacts of the legacy our veterans have contributed to our society as well as the indelible imprint on our history as Americans and humans. Through the act of recounting life experiences and translating these narratives through songs, the individual is given the opportunity to view and acknowledge their life as a purposeful and exciting story of challenges, successes, hardships and joys. The family and greater community are benefited by reinforcing the memory and legacy of their family members through a modality that is emotional and artistic.
