Vision Statement

Allied Arts of Whatcom County is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation whose vision is to enliven and promote the artistic identity within our community and make our region an arts destination and creative, vibrant place to live.

Mission Statement

Allied Arts of Whatcom County is dedicated to the arts in our region by empowering local artists through organized festivals and events, enriching our local school children through educational outreach programs, and working as a liaison to art enthusiasts of all ages, within our uniquely creative community.

2017-18 Short term priorities include:

1. Promotion of the arts through tourism:
a. I-5 Corridor (Seattle to Vancouver, B.C.) gallery guide promotion of 3 festivals, and Arts and Culture Map.
b. Digital Marketing: continue to improve AAWC website adding blog and other social media opportunities
c. Emphasis existing programs especially gallery and enhance programming.

2. Promote the economic and cultural significance of the arts in Whatcom County Continue through the “Art Means Business” campaign:
a. Revise economic significance materials
b. Continue to help coordinate Arts and Heritage Day and other advocacy efforts

3. Board development and expansion:
a. Continue Board education opportunities.
b. Expand Board by at least 2 new members.

4. Organizational Structure:
a. Revise Allied Arts Brochure .
b. Membership: Increase membership and identify additional benefit opportunities for membership.
c. Increase staff pay/ benefits to comparable community standards.
