Welcome to the Arts and Culture Guide Application for Studios and Galleries
Application Standards and Guidelines
1. Artists agree to meet basic standards of
safety and cleanliness in their studio, and present an attractive studio space
with a sufficient quantity of gallery-ready art work.
2. Artists must be residents of Whatcom County and business members of AAWC with a
registered business EIN #.
3. Artwork Sales. Proceeds of all artwork sales
are the property of the artist. Allied Arts does not collect commissions for
sales made in your studio or gallery. However, we would appreciate knowing
about your successes related to this program.\
4. Studio/gallery liability is the responsibility
of the owner/artist. It is recommended that you obtain at least liability
insurance on your insurance policy for duration of your listing in the Arts and
Culture Guide.
5. You are responsible for studio representation
and directions. If your studio is in
your home: your house number should be visible from the street, it should
be clean and easy to navigate through for those with special needs or children,
and your artwork should be displayed clearly.
6. Not
mandatory, but highly recommended: At least two parking places should be
available for visitors outside your studio/gallery.
7. Participating artists/galleries must submit
high resolution images (300 dpi JPEG) and a 250-character description
for your listing by December 1st,
2011. Images must be sent to director@alliedarts.org.
8. For
artists with studios: All artwork displayed in your studio must be your own
or from a member of Allied Arts. This does not apply to galleries.
*NOTE* Our system is very picky about the images it accepts. Image file
names CANNOT contain any of the following symbols: ( ) * ? ! # - _ ' " :
