Each year Whatcom County celebrates student art in an art exhibit in downtown Bellingham businesses. Families and community members alike enjoy vthe opportunity to come together to appreciate the creativity of our children. Last year more than 4,000 pieces of art were displayed and over 8,000 people viewed the exhibits.

The opening event is held on the first Friday in May and those who attend enjoy musical and theatrical entertainment at the Lightcatcher Building of the Whatcom Museum and the American Museum of Radio and Electricity. Teaching artists from the Allied Arts Education Project exhibit their art--and art from their arts classes in Whatcom County schools--in the Allied Art Gallery. Middle school students in our Arts Alive! mentorship program also exhibit in this show.

The art remains on exhibit during the month of May, which is Washington State Arts in Education month.
