The Bellwether Arts Market is a new festival created by the Port of Bellingham and Allied Arts of Whatcom County. This market will consist of around 24 artists’ booths and will be held Sunday afternoons at Tom Glenn Common near the Hotel Bellwether. The goals of this festival are to both highlight our talented local artists and to bring locals and visitors down to our beautiful waterfront.

Youth Arts Activities!               

August 5th: 11:00-1:15  Ellen Clark Fanatic Fabric Collage Make a cloth collage out of colorful pieces of fabric.Assemble your arrangement, and our instructor, Ellen Clark will help you fuse together your take home fabric project.   1:45-4   Gabriel Miles Animal Masks Think of your favorite animal and let's make a mask! Using only construction paper, scissors and glue watch our colorful animals come to life as we cut and glue.

August 12th:    11:00-1:15  Sandra Loeffelmann Felting a Rattle We will be felting over plastic Easter eggs which are filled with beans or rice! 1:45-4  Deirdre Czoberek Artist Trading Cards These mini masterpieces will be created using collage, drawing, or painting and can be slipped into a standard trading card sleeve to keep or trade.

August 19th:   11:00-1:15  Gabriel Miles Mondrian Squares I love the artist Piet Mondrain and his beautiful paintings that to me look like city streets. Using different size squares and rectangles in primary colors construct your own beautiful cityscape creation. 1:45-4  Kamarie Chapman Puppets and more Puppets Come and learn how to make a quick puppet on the fly, or a more advanced sock puppet. Maybe you'd prefer a two-finger-walking puppet, or a single-finger puppet? Or even a puppet made on your hand?  It's all about the puppets!

August 26th: 11:00-1:15  Thor Myhre Mask Making Bright fabrics, interesting doodads, and malleable foam.  Make a mask and transform yourself!   1:45-4  Sandra Loeffelmann Felting a Rattle We will be felting over plastic Easter eggs which are filled with beans or rice!
